Some of UK’s leading experts in artificial intelligence (AI) for manufacturing are being lined up to address the
Artificial Intelligence for Manufacturing 2022 conference at the
Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), which is taking place on 21 June.
The keynote speaker at the event will be Chaco van der Sijp, the innovation lead for manufacturing at Innovate UK. Other panellists include Ian Gardner, account technology leader at IBM, Phillip Proctor, head of research at Highways England, Dr George Economides, head of AI and autonomy at the Department for Transport and Paul Larking, global head of robotics and automation at 3M.
The free-to-attend conference will bring together industry, academia and research institutions to explore how to take AI and machine learning forward.
Nandini Chakravorti, associate director at the MTC, said: “This is a great opportunity to delve into the world of AI and understand how it can help manufacturing businesses in many ways. There is considerable resource available in the UK, powered by the country’s top talent, and that presents opportunities for manufacturing.”
She added: “Digital technologies are rapidly transforming how we make products faster, cheaper and better. With the proper use of AI, we can compete globally at pace and on price.”
Delegates at the conference, which is now an annual event, will be able to take part in live Q&A panel discussions or join educational workshops and technology demonstrations.
The conference builds on
Artificial Intelligence for Manufacturing 2021, which was a hybrid event. Topics this year include the future of AI, becoming data ready, AI for industrial applications, maintenance and security, and the benefits of AI for ‘net zero’.
