New leadership at Mikron Tool

Markus Schnyder, head of Swiss tooling specialist Mikron Tool SA, has handed over leadership of the company to his long-time business companion Elio Lupica during an emotional farewell ceremony. After 24 years at the helm of the company Mr Schnyder is retiring, but will continue in a consultancy role.

Mr Lupica graduated in business administration from the University of Lugano. He joined Mikron Tool in 2005 as the head of finance and control. Thanks to his keen understanding of processes and organisational talent, he took over the management of the Agno, Rottweil and Shanghai sites in 2016. In addition, he was the deputy division head alongside Mr Schnyder and together, they have shaped Mikron Tool into the company that it is day.

Founded in 1998, Mikron Tool developed under their management into a division of Mikron Switzerland AG with four facilities worldwide. Within 24 years, the company grew from 30 to 245 employees. At the heart of Mikron Tool is its technology and competence centre for micro-machining, trimmed for high performance, which continuously provides groundbreaking new developments. In 2022, a new production hall with an area of 1,000m² was commissioned at the headquarters in Agno to increase the production capacity.

Under the leadership of Mr Lupica, the company will continue to expand its position in the market with ‘strategic vision and an exceptional drive to innovate’. To achieve this, Mikron Tool will continue to invest in the latest technologies to constantly optimise its high standards on quality and performance.
