Clifford Springs acquired by LesjöforsGlobal spring manufacturer Lesjöfors, which has a UK subsidiary headquartered in Huddersfield, Lesjöfors Springs (UK) Ltd, has acquired Clifford Springs Ltd, a UK spring manufacturer based in Redditch with the aim of strengthening its offering in energiser springs.

Clifford Springs mainly supplies energiser springs to the seal and valve industry in the UK, Europe and the USA. The company has a broad customer base and focuses on small to medium-size series. The company also possesses a high level of technical competence and is known for its qualitative value proposition and strong brand. The company has annual revenue of approximately £3 million with good profitability and employs 17 people.

Lesjöfors’ CEO Ola Tengroth said: “Clifford Springs is a well-invested company with a high level of internal technical competence. Through this acquisition, we are expanding our product offering in energiser springs while strengthening our presence in the UK and Europe. This acquisition also increases our footprint in the attractive niche segments of seals and valves. We look forward to continuing to develop the company as part of the Lesjöfors Group and see great potential for accelerating growth through our sales channels.”

Clifford Springs’ CE John Clifford will continue in his operational role. He concluded: “We are pleased to welcome Lesjöfors as the new owner of Clifford Springs.
