Hexagon Metrology UK has opened a dedicated sub-contract inspection and measurement facility at its head office in Telford
(www.hexagonmetrology.co.uk). New machines have been bought, and two new inspection application engineers — Dave Carter and Keith Moony — have joined the existing 10-strong team.
The facility offers dimensional measurement and CMM inspection services, plus non-contact measurement, scanning and digitising. It is NDA-compliant, and its temperature-controlled environment is said to be among the best in the country.
Applications team leader Greg Holdsworth says: “Inspection lead times are quicker, and we can gather data more seamlessly and rapidly, as our SPC database is now connected to all our machines. The creation of a dedicated unit with its own programming area, together with extra equipment and staff, signals Hexagon’s ambition to further expand its sub-contract business in the UK.”
This sub-contract facility is the latest phase of Hexagon’s on-going investment programme, which has seen new training and service centres opened at Telford and Chester in recent months.
