Multidisciplinary engineering firm
adi Group has announced the appointment of Tom Jennings as the new managing director of
adi Electrical. Mr Jennings’ journey with the Birmingham-based business began 19 years ago when he joined as an electrical apprentice at the age of 18. After graduating from the firm’s award-winning apprenticeship scheme, he has progressed through various roles, including electrician, electrical supervisor, project engineer, operations manager and, most recently, operations director at adi Electrical.
As operations director Mr Jennings was instrumental in leading the team, driving operational excellence and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. Now he has completed his journey from apprentice to managing director, providing an inspirational example to budding engineers — including the current cohort of adi Group apprentices.
Mr Jennings said: “If you had told me almost two decades ago I would progress the way I have with adi, I would not have believed you. I am so proud of the journey and I hope my story is one that can be replicated in years to come — with the importance adi places on developing the next generation of engineers, I see no reason why it will not!
“I look forward to leading adi Electrical into its next chapter and working alongside the fantastic team we have here. Thank you to all the colleagues, past and present, who have supported me throughout every stage of my career so far.”
adi Group CEO Paul Smith concluded: “Here at adi Group, we are proud to offer opportunities for our team to grow and develop — we do not hold anyone back. Tom’s journey is a perfect example of how dedication and hard work can lead to success within the Group. We are incredibly proud of what he has achieved, and his promotion is a testament to the opportunities we provide for personal and professional growth.”
