AccuBots to inspire visitors at National Manufacturing WeekHuddersfield-based Accu, a leading provider of precision engineering components, is set to inspire visitors to the Smart Manufacturing Week event held at the NEC in Birmingham on 4 and 5 June (Stand 5/H60) with an exciting demonstration of precision fasteners in action.

Accu believes there is no better way to demonstrate the strength and rigidity of precision fasteners than by putting them to the test! On its stand, Accu will be hosting its AccuBots, thrilling 3-D printed robot battles that demonstrate how Accu’s high-performance precision fasteners are engineered for resilience and reliability under pressure.

Key components such as shoulder screws, Accu’s polyfix self-tapping screws and brass threaded inserts will be on display, demonstrating how they enhance the integrity of 3-D printed parts by offering solid ways to integrate threads for assembly and disassembly.

Accu’s stand will be a hub of activity, featuring interactive demonstrations and the chance to battle it out with ‘demo bots’, offering a rare opportunity for engineers to push the boundaries of precision engineering components.

Alastair Morris, managing director of Accu, said: “We are thrilled to be showcasing our AccuBots at Smart Manufacturing Week. It is a chance to bring precision engineering to life in a fun and interactive way, where visitors can experience the durability of our components first-hand. It is the first time we have showcased our AccuBots at a trade show, and they demonstrate how we continue to push boundaries in robotics and manufacturing technology, inspiring the next generation of engineers.”

Accu is working with a number of student robotics clubs, such as at local secondary school Holmfirth High School, to design their own robots and compete against the Accu engineers. The aim is to offer students a valuable hands-on experience with CAD, additive manufacturing (AM) and basic mechanical design, inspiring the next generation of innovators and engineers.

Smart Manufacturing Week is made up of both live and digital events designed to encourage business networking and discussions around manufacturing and engineering solutions. The event celebrates engineering excellence, bringing together expert speakers and industry influencers to share valuable insights and experiences.
