Contract electronics manufacturer joins Make UK DefenceUK Circuits, a contract electronics manufacturer (CEM), has joined Make UK Defence to expand its offering of manufacturing services tailored to the defence sector. Make UK Defence is an organisation that champions the UK’s innovative and diverse manufacturers for defence and security, along with the world-class supply chain that underpins them. As its newest member, UK Circuits aims to build connections across the diverse defence sector, while supporting fellow members with regulatory compliant, high-quality and traceable electronics services.

Marc Ellis, managing director of UK Circuits, said: “At UK Circuits, we have extensive experience in manufacturing defence technology, helping deliver electronics that meet the highest specification of materials and production standards. By joining Make UK Defence, we hope to continue our support towards strengthening national security and share our leading services with members of the defence supply chain.”

Through Make UK’s regular networking opportunities and valuable insights into the latest defence advancements, UK Circuits will have direct opportunities to connect and collaborate with organisations across the British defence sector.

Trusted manufacturers

UK Circuits’ new membership comes as the Ministry of Defence (MoD) announces over £4 billion towards developing future military systems. As investment in British defence technology increases, so too does the demand for trusted manufacturers capable of meeting the sector’s needs.

Mr Ellis added: “Following the recent funding boost for military technology, now is the time for technology innovators and electronics manufacturers across the UK to step up. Through groups like Make UK, our nation’s best innovators can come together to help drive technological advances and help position the UK as a global leader in defence technology.”

Founded in 1997, UK Circuits produce both surface-mounted (on printed circuit boards or PCBs) and conventionally assembled (through-the-hole) electronics for over 100 clients. With a 20,000ft2 ‘state of the art’ facility and a growing team of over 40 electronics specialists, UK Circuits have become one of Britain’s leading contract electronics manufacturers supporting sectors including sensors and monitoring, industrial, entertainment, lighting, audio and defence.
