Horn will be demonstrating its cutting tools live at EMOPaul Horn GmbH, a leading international manufacturer of high-precision grooving, turning, and milling tools, and which is represented in the UK by Ringwood-based subsidiary
Horn Cutting Tools Ltd, will show its tools machining live on four different machines on the company’s 580m
2 stand (A32, Hall 5), at
EMO Hannover 2025.
There will be an Index G220 fixed-head model and a Citizen L12 sliding-head turning centre, alongside a DMG Mori DMU65 monoBLOCK vertical-spindle model and a Grob G150 horizontal-spindle machine, putting Horn’s prismatic machining tools through their paces.

In addition to live machining, Horn will be presenting numerous tooling innovations. Among them is the Mini system with sintered chip breaker geometry, which was unveiled for the first time at the
Horn Technology Days in May 2025. The sintered I-geometry is particularly aimed at machining materials having poor chip formation properties. It is suitable for copy turning, longitudinal turning, back turning and facing.
Especially when taking a shallow depth of cut during the machining of steels and stainless steels, the tool system with this geometry demonstrates superior chip control, leading to high process reliability and long tool life. When developing the I-geometry, Horn also took into account the machining of lead-free materials, which are being phased out owing to their toxicity. As their replacements pose a challenge due to their inferior chip formation properties, the tool manufacturer offers inserts with small corner radii starting from 0.05mm for small lateral infeeds. Corner radii from 0.05 to 0.2mm are available from stock.
