Ward Hi-Tech flying out to support principals at EMOSheffield-based machine tool dealer Ward Hi-Tech Ltd will be offering support to its principals exhibiting at EMO Hannover 2025, taking place 22-26 September. They include Hwacheon, Dah Lih, Kiheung and SFM (Sun Firm) — for whom Ward Hi-Tech is the sole distributor in the UK.

South Korean machine tool manufacturer Hwacheon will be marking its 80th anniversary at the show (Stand B36, Hall 15) and will exhibit a large selection of its machine tool range. Being seen for the first time will be the new i2-2SP multi-tasking lathe which features a B axis, enabling complex turning and milling operations in a single setup. The machine will be equipped with the latest Hwacheon developed Harmony user-friendly control which has the Fanuc system at its heart. It is ideal for high-precision manufacturing in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and medical devices.

Alongside the i2-SSP will be a Hi-Tech 750ALYMC heavy duty turning centre (pictured above) with driven tools and Y axis, specifically designed for large workpieces and materials that are difficult to machine. With up to 24in chuck size as standard and an extra-wide 12-station turret, this machine is ideal for machining extra-long boring bars.

Also taking pride of place will be the AF-4 horizontal, high-speed multi-pallet machining centre. As standard all models have a rapid traverse of 60m/min in the X, Y and Z axes and up to 34rev/min on the B axis coupled with a high-speed tool changer and a 37kW spindle motor.

MEGAMeanwhile, the MEGA 72 (pictured right) is a high-powered flatbed CNC lathe with a maximum swing of 720mm and a turning diameter of 480mm over the saddle through a heavy-duty spindle. Options include various turret types, steady sizes and heavy duty tailstock and large capacity side mounted boring holder of up to 150mm diameter.

Veratile performer

Completing Hwacheon’s line-up will be a D2-5AX five-axis vertical machining centre, a recent addition to the five-axis VMC range. With a table size of 600mm diameter, with X, Y and Z travels of 650 x 500 x 500mm, and spindle speeds up to 24,000rev/min, this versatile performer is available in full five-axis or 4+1 options.

With an extensive product range of over 70 machine tools including two-axis, multi-axis, driven tool, vertical lathe, and machining centre options, Ward Hi-Tech stocks a comprehensive range of units in its 10,000ft2 Sheffield showroom. Hwacheon lathes are available with chuck sizes up to 1m in size while machining centres are available up to 2m in size.

To mark this milestone year, Hwacheon are offering through its international dealer network some very special purchasing opportunities. For further details visit Ward Hi-tech’s website here.

At EMO (Stand A07, Hall 12), Dah Lih will be showcasing two new additions to its current range of vertical machining centres (VMCs). The all new MCV-860A features X, Y and Z-axis travels of 860 x 550 x 550mm, optional speed ranges from 5,000-10,000rev/min and includes high rapid rates utilising the last linear guide technology.

The MCV-1050 model (pictured left) is designed for heavy duty applications with box guideways, a geared spindle with either BBT40 or BBT50 specifications, featuring X, Y and Z-axis travels of 1,050 x 560 x 560mm. Both models feature, as standard, the latest Fanuc OiMF+ systems with enhanced Dah Lih software additions to assist optimisation of the production process.

Korea-based Kiheung Machinery Co Ltd specialises in the manufacture of CNC universal bed mills and travelling column machining centres. They are also a well-known builder of a range of CNC horizontal and double column boring machines.

At EMO (Stand B19, Hall 13), Kiheung will be showcasing a version of the popular U1200N/X3100 universal CNC bed mill with X, Y and Z-axis travels of 3,100 x 1,250 x 1,350mm, a 50Hp high power spindle, 24-station automatic tool changer (ATC), and featuring the A4 programmable universal milling head with BT50 spindle taper. This bestselling model provides versatile and heavy-duty machining performance at a competitive price point.

Taiwan-based SFM (Sun Firm Machinery Industry Co Ltd) — has been building heavy duty, flatbed lathes for over 60 years. At EMO (Stand E10, Hall 13) the company will be exhibiting a CST46200, long bed CNC lathe which features a swing of 1,170mm, bed length of 5m between centres, a twin chuck headstock with a large spindle bore of 255mm, and a 50HP heavy duty main motor.
