At EMO 2025, a ProFeeder EasyDesk 30 will automate a Hurco VMX42Di three-axis machining centre to form a cell that is ideal for small-series productionAutomation is not yet standard in single-part and low-batch production. However, increasing task consolidation and a lack of skilled personnel are prompting many contract manufacturers to look for robotic solutions. At
EMO Hannover 2025, taking place 22 to 26 September, machine tool manufacturer
Hurco will be providing information about automation solutions for efficient small-series production.
With a ProCobot system integrated into the control of one of its machine tools, Hurco aims to make automation attractive to everyone and help reduce error rates and downtime. The robot arms work with most of the machine manufacturer’s models and ensure efficient workflows on three-axis milling machines, five-axis machining centres and lathes.
Hurco is bringing the new ProFeeder EasyDesk 30 to
EMO, a robot solution for parts handling up to a payload of 30kg. The jobs to be completed are managed and programmed directly via the ‘Job Manager’ app in the machine control. Several jobs can be set up simultaneously and components can be distributed individually within the grid plate.
The Job Manager software, running on the second screen of Hurco’s Max 5 control, is the primary differentiator in terms of ease-of-use and quick set-up for automation. A simple calibration process means that the ProCobot can easily be moved from one Hurco machine to another.
A ProCobot will be seen feeding a Hurco VMX42Di three-axis machining centre at
EMO. As with all machines in the premium VMXi range, this model boasts direct digital drives and heavy-duty roller guideways in all axes. The machine features an 18kW, 15,000rev/min, direct-drive spindle, coolant ring, full cabinet washdown and swarf conveyor as standard. Generous travels of 1,067 x 610 x 610mm complete a package that is particularly well-suited to high-volume aluminium removal and 3-D contouring.
