Ajax Machine Tools, a stalwart of British engineering since 1940, is stepping up its game with the launch of two advanced CNC machines aimed at satisfying modern manufacturing demands. Leading the charge is the AJDTC drill and tap machining centre — a high-speed performer with spindle speeds up to 24,000rev/min, 60m/min rapids, and a 1.7sec chip-to-chip tool change. Backed by Fanuc 0i MF or optional Siemens 828D ShopMill controls, it is built for speed, precision, and reliability.
Also new is the AJSB210 HP CNC lathe, which features a 250mm power chuck, 63mm bar capacity, eight-station turret, swarf conveyor, and a 1.2m magazine bar feeder — all at an introductory price of £59,950. Both machines will debut this October at Ajax’s newly upgraded showroom and CNC training centre in Lymington, Hampshire. Engineers can access hands-on training across Fanuc, Siemens, and Fagor platforms on-site or at customer locations.
Ajax continues to offer everything from manual machines to full five-axis solutions, reinforcing its position as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for UK machining. The company also welcomes Rene Tournier as South of England sales manager and Dave Gerrish as training and applications manager, strengthening its technical and customer support teams.
