 Britten-Norman Islander Britten-Norman
Britten-Norman Islander Britten-Norman, the British manufacturer of the iconic Islander aircraft, has launched a new Aircraft Brokerage and Trade-In Service aimed at providing operators with full lifecycle support for their fleets. The initiative is designed to help operators transition from legacy aircraft to new Islanders, with Britten-Norman managing the sale, trade-in, or refurbishment of existing assets to ensure uninterrupted operational capability.
The service is already being implemented, with Britten-Norman currently offering two BN2A-21 Islanders on behalf of Luxembourg-based operator
CAE Aviation. These aircraft, which have been operated by CAE for over a decade, are currently configured for surveillance missions but can be reconfigured for 10-seat commuter or cargo operations, offering prospective buyers a high degree of flexibility.
Charlotte Britton, head of sales at Britten-Norman, said: “Operators want a straightforward way to refresh their fleets with minimal disruption. Our brokerage and trade-in service ensures customers can advance to the next generation of Islanders while keeping existing aircraft in service until the new ones are ready, making the process efficient and fully managed by Britten-Norman.”
The programme leverages the company’s technical expertise and access to OEM records, with its sales team supporting operators through import/export processes and connecting aircraft with buyers worldwide. Aircraft can remain in service until new deliveries are ready, helping operators avoid any gaps in operational capability.
As Britten-Norman ramps up production of new Islanders at its expanded UK production line, the service offers a seamless, OEM-managed transition from old to new. Every step — from remarketing or refurbishment of legacy aircraft to delivery of factory-built Islanders — is handled end-to-end by Britten-Norman.
The Brokerage and Trade-In Service is available to Islander operators globally, providing a clear route to fleet renewal and access to both new and pre-owned aircraft.
