CMZ UK Ltd — a subsidiary of the international Spanish lathe company CMZ Machine Tool Manufacturer SL — is expanding its presence in the UK with the purchase of a 16,000m
2 plot of land. Located in Coventry, in the heart of the West Midlands, this will be the site for the company’s future headquarters and new Technology Centre.
CMZ said: “With this investment, the UK subsidiary is taking a decisive step in the company’s expansion plans, strengthening its service capability and proximity to customers in the region. The future Technology Centre will feature sales offices, a showroom with CMZ lathes, and an applications engineering area dedicated to providing direct support to our customers in the UK. In addition, the in-house after-sales team based in the UK will expand and relocate to the Coventry facilities. Construction of the building will begin in the coming months and is scheduled to be completed within two years.
“With this development, which marks a turning point in the 15-year history of our UK subsidiary. we will be strengthening our commercial presence and after-sales capacity. Moreover, being in Coventry, the new Technology Centre will be adjacent to the A45 next to the aerodrome, and within the West Midlands Investment Zone. Designated by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), this Investment Zone offers economic and development advantages, along with excellent road and rail links for ready access to customers throughout the UK.
“Furthermore, the future headquarters of CMZ UK will be surrounded by leading manufacturers such as Jaguar Land Rover, and the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) — a leading centre for the development of next-generation batteries for electric vehicles. This latest development adds to the measures already undertaken to strengthen our presence in the country.
