ANCA appoints new chairman of the boardANCA Group recently appointed Gavin Smith as chairman of the board, strengthening its leadership team at a time of continued growth and strategic expansion.

Mr Smith brings with him extensive international experience across engineering, advanced manufacturing and technology‑driven industries. His long career at Bosch, culminating in his position as president of Bosch Oceania, saw him oversee multi‑sector operations spanning industrial technologies, manufacturing, mobility solutions and consumer products. Alongside his executive responsibilities, he has served on numerous public and private boards, providing governance and strategic oversight to globally competitive, engineering‑led organisations.

ANCA co‑director Pat Boland said: “Gavin brings a strong strategic lens to the role, underpinned by deep global experience in engineering and manufacturing. His long tenure at Bosch, combined with his board experience, gives him a deep understanding of how to balance strategy, operational discipline, and long-term value creation.

“This will be critical as ANCA continues to invest in technology and quality; while ensuring we deliver the best possible solutions for our customers.” He continued: “As market conditions continue to evolve, it is increasingly important that we remain smart and strategic in how we invest, diversify, and execute. Gavin will bring new ideas to the Board that will help deliver sustainable, long-term growth.”

Under Mr Smith’s leadership, ANCA’s board will place renewed emphasis on operational excellence and strategic discipline, reinforcing the company’s longstanding commitment to engineering leadership and sustainable performance. The company’s strategy remains anchored in supporting customer profitability by enabling the production of high‑quality tools at the lowest total cost per tool — an objective achieved through advanced engineering, vertically integrated technology, automation and a disciplined approach to innovation focused on consistency, efficiency and long‑term value.

Mr Smith succeeds Graeme Billings, who is stepping down after serving as chairman. Mr Boland said: “Graeme has made a valuable contribution to ANCA, and we thank him for his leadership and service.”

ANCA Group remains committed to delivering world‑class engineering and manufacturing solutions for the global market. Its ongoing focus on innovation, performance and long‑term customer partnership continues to guide the company as it strengthens its position in the competitive international manufacturing landscape.
