Women’s Engineering Society (WES) has announced the winners of its annual Top 50 Women in Engineering awards (WE50) to coincide with International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) on 23 June.
This year’s theme, ‘Engineering Intelligence,’ focused on how women combine human creativity and technological innovation to solve complex challenges and drive inclusive progress. INWED also highlighted the outstanding achievements of women engineers worldwide. Shining a spotlight on the opportunities engineering creates for future generations.
The society says the women on the list of registered engineers and technicians featured on this year’s Top 50 have demonstrated dedication to internationally recognised standards, ethical practice, and continuous improvement and set a powerful example for the profession.
International Women in Engineering Day was launched by WES in 2014 and is celebrated annually on 23 June. The campaign raises the profile of women engineers worldwide, celebrates their achievements and encourages more women and girls to pursue engineering careers.
