The UK's Boxer armoured vehicle programme has reached a significant milestone, with the 100th Mechanised Infantry Vehicle delivered to the MOD.
Procured through OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co operation) and delivered via ARTEC (the Armoured vehicle technology consortium) – bringing together
KNDS and
Rheinmetall – alongside the National Armaments Director Group (NAD Group) and the Army, Boxer is a modular and adaptable platform that is central to the UK’s Armed Forces’ future warfighting capability.
The vehicle is manufactured in the UK at RBSL's facility in Telford and KNDS UK in Stockport, with a supply chain that spans the breadth of the country, supporting hundreds of highly skilled UK jobs.
Martyn Williams, senior responsible owner for Boxer at the NAD Group, said: "The delivery of the 100th Boxer to the UK Ministry of Defence is a significant milestone and reflects the tremendous work done by OCCAR, ARTEC, KNDS, Rheinmetall, the NAD Group and wider MOD to establish two UK Boxer production lines and the broad supply chains across the UK. The international collaboration through OCCAR and ARTEC has seen technology transfer to the UK, building on the UK's proud history of armoured vehicle manufacturing."
Reaching 100 vehicles is the result of sustained collaboration between the NAD Group, the Army and industry partners. The programme continues to support sovereign skills and engineering expertise and has embedded a resilient UK supply chain.
