The
TaeguTec T-Clamp parting and grooving series has been a recognised industry leader since its introduction. The cutting tool developer has now significantly expanded the line with the introduction of new CBN and PCD single-ended inserts.
Designed to meet the demands of high-performance turning, grooving, and profiling operations, the new inserts will improve performance and extend tool life for end users.
The new inserts expand TaeguTec's single-ended insert line and are available in two distinct series. The TSG is a CBN grade for hard-material machining, and the TSA is the PCD option for non-ferrous machining.
The CBN lineup for grooving and profiling hard materials now includes a 2mm cutting width, broadening the range of applications that can be addressed. The TSG series is offered in both standard square-end and full-radius configurations, with the full-radius variant supporting turning, grooving, and profiling.
Both CBN and PCD inserts are available in cutting widths of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8mm. The TSG series is manufactured from TaeguTec’s high-performance TB2015 CBN grade, and the square-end inserts incorporate a 0.2 or 0.4mm radius to prevent edge chipping and improve performance. The inserts have a clearance width of 1.7 to 6mm, depending on the selected insert cutting width, and the TSG full-radius variant has the same clearance width.
The enhanced PCD inserts deliver outstanding machining performance and a superior surface finish in both continuous and interrupted cutting of non-ferrous metals. The TSA series introduces TaeguTec’s TD1020 PCD grade, ideal for prolonged, high-performance machining of aluminium, copper alloys, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials where surface quality is critical.
The TSA inserts are also available in standard and full-radius variants. The square-end inserts are offered in widths of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6mm, with a 0.2mm corner radius and overall insert lengths of 20 and 25mm, depending on width selection. The full-radius version has been expanded from its 3 and 4mm radii to now include smaller 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5mm radii.
A key advantage of the new insert range is its drop-in compatibility with existing tooling setups. Both insert types are fully compatible with existing T-Clamp holders and support turning, grooving, and profiling across external, internal, and face applications. This allows manufacturers to upgrade their cutting capability without investing in new tooling systems.
