Horn, which is exhibiting in Hall 1, Stand J10 across an area of around 500m², is using
AMB 2026 not only to show its vast range of precision tools, but also to demonstrate them in real-world machining scenarios. Three machine tools will demonstrate the company’s expertise in standard products, bespoke solutions and special innovations.
A new introduction will be the expanded S274 tool system. Horn is enlarging it with sintered chip-breaker geometries for parting-off and turning. The new types improve chip control, increase process reliability and support cost-effective machining on sliding-head lathes. For grooving and parting off, Horn is supplementing the precision-sintered chip-breaking geometry .1A with versions having narrow cutting widths of 0.8 mm and 0.6 mm. It enables users to reduce material loss whilst ensuring reliable chip formation.
The carbide cutting inserts are available as type RS274 and as the RE274 type with a press-fit threaded element for RH274 holders. Horn offers them in the carbide grades TH35 and IG35. In addition, the new chip-breaking geometries .NF and .PR have been introduced. The .NF geometry is designed for grooving and sliding-head longitudinal turning, whilst the .PR geometry is for back turning. Both geometries cover feed rates ranging from 0.02 to 0.1 mm/rev and are suitable for machining a variety of materials. Alongside the products, AMB 2026 will feature specialist themes such as aerospace and defence.
The Saturday of the trade fair will play a special role for Horn, as the company is taking part in the parent-child rally. The aim is to inspire young people to take an interest in mechanical engineering and production technology and to make it easier for them to gain access to manufacturing industry.
