For a new generation of cleanroom transfer locks,
akYtec has developed a control system in a very short time that can be integrated quickly and cost-effectively. The automation technology manufacturer relies on proven hardware platforms and tailors the software logic and firmware specifically to the respective application requirements. The customer, a manufacturer of cleanroom equipment, received a ready-to-use solution from akYtec without having to develop a control system from scratch.
The requirements included integrated monitoring and signalling functions, as well as semi-automatic operating modes. Furthermore, the solution had to be designed for a very limited installation space, operate reliably and be easily scalable even for small production runs.
The solution is based on the tried-and-tested akYtec hardware platform, featuring the PR205 programmable relay and compatible expansion modules such as the PRM.24.1. All necessary system functions have been integrated into a pre-assembled unit – from controlling the lighting, UV lamp and ventilation, through monitoring differential pressure and access status, to actuating electromagnetic locks and signaling devices.
The use of tried-and-tested components ensures stable system performance and simplifies the production and assembly of small batches. The control unit is supplied ready for connection and requires no further configuration or wiring.
The PR205 programmable relay combines powerful control technology with simple programming and integrated operation. It features Ethernet, RS-485, high-speed counter inputs up to 100 kHz, as well as analogue and digital inputs and outputs. The integrated 2.4in colour display with keypad enables local operation and visualisation without the need for an additional HMI panel. Programming is carried out using the free akYtec ALP software in accordance with IEC 61131-3 (FBD and ST) and is efficiently supported by offline simulation, online debugging and reusable macros.
Almost every PR model from akYtec can also be combined with the PRM expansion modules – in this case the PRM.24.1 – to meet the required specifications for the control system of the cleanroom transfer box. In combination with the PR205, akYtec was ultimately able to supply a cost-effective, ready-to-use control unit that incorporates all the required functions.
