From automotive and fluid industry applications to intelligent tool management and advanced coating technologies,
Kyocera Unimerco will showcase a range of manufacturing solutions at AMB 2026, taking place in Stuttgart, Germany from September 15-19.
At booth 3B40 in Hall 3, it will presents solutions designed to help manufacturers address key production challenges, including increasing productivity demands, rising cost pressures and the need for greater process transparency. Kyocera’s presence focuses on applications for the automotive, fluid technology and general engineering sectors, combining machining expertise with intelligent tool management and advanced coating technologies.
One key focus area is the transformation of automotive production. As OEMs increasingly adopt large structural castings and continue to expand high-volume manufacturing, requirements for productivity, precision and cost control continue to grow.
These developments place growing demands on machining performance, tool life and process stability throughout the production process. Kyocera Unimerco demonstrates its tooling concepts developed to support these evolving production requirements and improve performance in demanding machining environments.
For the fluid industry, Kyocera introduces the new drill reamer, an innovative combination tool that combines drilling and reaming in a single operation. The solution is designed to produce H7 tolerance holes in selected steel and cast iron grades under defined machining conditions. Developed as an alternative to dedicated drilling and reaming tools, the drill reamer helps manufacturers reduce tooling complexity, shorten cycle times and improve process security.
Further tooling innovations on display at AMB 2026 include the KGX grooving and cut-off tool.
Developed to improve machining precision, tool life and productivity, the KGX features an advanced clamping design that reduces insert movement and wear. A common insert platform for external, internal and face grooving applications simplifies tooling management, while improved chip control supports stable machining performance.
Also featured will be the ME90 helical end mill. Designed for titanium alloys and other difficult-to-machine materials, the ME90 combines a rigid cutter design, advanced insert geometry and the PM335S grade. Double-sided inserts with eight cutting edges contribute to high productivity and economical insert utilisation.
Another advance is the MG90B slot milling cutter. Developed for high-efficiency slot milling operations, the MG90B combines rigid insert clamping, reduced cutting forces and six-edge inserts. Large chip pockets and a staggered insert arrangement support reliable chip evacuation and efficient material removal.
Lastly, to help manufacturers reduce dependence on dedicated solid carbide solutions, Kyocera Unimerco also presents high-performance cermet inserts for finishing applications. The MFH Micro high-feed milling cutter and the DRA MagicDrill indexable drill series demonstrate how tooling costs can potentially be reduced while maintaining competitive machining performance in selected applications.
Alongside its machining solutions, Kyocera Unimerco will showcase its CC945 intelligent tool management solution, which provides greater transparency across tooling operations and supports efficient inventory management, tool availability and workflow optimisation. By creating better visibility throughout the tooling lifecycle, the system helps manufacturers improve control over production resources and reduce operational inefficiencies.
Kyocera has also expanded its capabilities through the integration of Weber Technologies into the Kyocera Unimerco Group in 2025. Specialising in CVD diamond coatings for aluminium, CFRP, graphite and ceramic materials, Weber Technologies enhances tool performance, wear resistance and process reliability in demanding machining applications. At the Kyocera booth, experts from Weber Technologies will be available to discuss application-specific coating solutions and manufacturing requirements.
