Kingsbury marks 70 years with Step Up Scheme

Kingsbury marks 70 years with Step Up Scheme Kingsbury has launched a new initiative aimed at helping UK manufacturers invest in advanced machine tool technology and take their next step in growth.

The initiative, named the ‘Step Up Scheme’, will give manufacturers the opportunity to access high-performance CNC technology at a reduced capital cost – helping businesses increase capacity, improve productivity and pursue more complex production opportunities.

Kingsbury’s long-standing partnerships with leading machine tool Principals brings advanced machining technologies directly to manufacturers across the UK. Through the scheme, Kingsbury will offer two pre-owned INDEX multi-spindle CNC machines at a reduced capital cost. Distributed exclusively by Kingsbury in the UK, INDEX machines are known for their ability to handle complex, high-precision manufacturing processes without compromising quality.

The machines included in the scheme are the INDEX MS22-8 and the INDEX MS32-6, both designed for high-volume production environments. Equipped with multiple spindles and advanced automation capabilities, the machines are suited to a wide range of sectors, from aerospace and automotive to medical and energy manufacturing.

The initiative reflects a growing challenge facing many manufacturers. While demand for increased productivity, shorter lead times and improved competitiveness remains high, the capital investment required for new machine tools can often delay expansion plans. It can even prevent businesses from pursuing new opportunities altogether.

By placing proven technology with businesses where it can have the greatest impact, the ‘Step Up Scheme’ is designed to help manufacturers overcome that barrier and unlock new opportunities for growth.

Richard Kingsbury, managing director of Kingsbury, commented: “UK manufacturing continues to operate in a challenging environment. Costs are high, confidence is under pressure and making the case for major capital investment has become increasingly difficult.

"The Step Up Scheme is about putting proven manufacturing capability back to work and helping ambitious manufacturers access technology that may otherwise have been beyond reach.

"As we celebrate 70 years of supporting British industry, it feels fitting to create opportunities for the next generation of manufacturing success stories. We want these machines to help businesses take their next step."

Kingsbury's engineering team will work closely with applicants to understand their production requirements, component types and capacity challenges, ensuring the most appropriate machine is matched to each business.

Manufacturers interested in applying to the Step Up Scheme are invited to share details of their current production challenges and future growth ambitions.
