Gardner Denver to open first facility in India

@GardnerDenver #engineering #manufacturing #mfg US firm Gardner Denver is to open its first manufacturing unit in India at Changodar, which is an industrial cluster on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. The 150-year-old company will lease an 85,000ft² facility to manufacture air compressors and vacuum pumps.

Sanjay Choksi, plant manager at Changodar, said: “This project will initially have the capacity to manufacture 10,000 compressors a year. We’ll also be manufacturing pumps and blowers at this facility.”

Shanghai Hitachi — a joint-venture company established by Chinese Highly Group and Japan’s Hitachi AP — recently chose Changodar as the site for India’s largest AC compressor plant. Its 33,000m² facility has the capacity to manufacture two million compressor sets a year.
