Laser welding system - a gem

#mfg #manufacturing #engineering @LaserApps Birmingham’s School of Jewellery — located in the Jewellery Quarter since 1890 — has invested in another laser welding system from Daventry-based Rofin-Baasel UK Ltd (www.rofin-baasel.co.uk).

Lecturer Jo Pond says: “Ensuring that all students have a good grasp of both traditional techniques and those
offered by technology has been a priority for some time here.

The school invested in its first laser system some 12 years ago, and we now have four laser systems, which have become a key part of all courses.”

The latest laser is a compact table-top model for manual welding.
