Haas Automation (
www.haascnc.com) will be exhibiting a number of high-performance CNC machines — plus the Haas F1 car, which is on schedule to make its debut in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship next year.
Among the new machines on show will be the UMC-750SS — a super-speed version of the company’s universal five-axis machining centre. It features a 40-taper 15,000rev/min in-line direct-drive spindle, a high-speed 40+1 side-mounted tool changer and Haas’s own high-speed machining software. The UMC-750SS has a work envelope of 762 x 508 x 508mm, 30.5m/min rapids and an integrated high-speed dual-axis trunnion table.
Another of the company’s new machines is the Haas DM-1. This high-speed 40-taper drill-mill centre has a 15,000rev/min direct-drive spindle and can undertake high-speed rigid tapping. It has a 508 x 406 x 394mm work envelope, a maximum cutting feed rate of 30.5m/min and an 18+1 side-mounted tool changer.
New on the turning front is the ST-15 big-bore turning centre, which has a maximum cutting capacity of 356 ¥ 406mm and a swing of 406mm over the cross slide. A Y-axis version of the machine is also available.
