Jobs have been saved after part of Aldridge Fabrications Ltd (
www.aldridge-fabrications.co.uk) was bought out of administration, although there were more than 80 redundancies ahead of the insolvency with a number of sites ceasing to trade, including one in Merseyside. Raj Mittal and Arvindar Singh-Sall of FRP Advisory were appointed as administrators on 18 December.
The company employed around 140 people at sites in Staffordshire, Prenton in Merseyside, Birtley in Tyne and Wear, and in Hungary. It has been in business for more than 50 years and primarily supplied the mining and fabrication sectors, but it saw a downturn in revenues over the past few years. As part of the sale to a new entity called Aldridge Fabrications (AF) Ltd, 58 jobs have been preserved in Burntwood, Brownhills, Dilhorne and Birtley.
Mr Singh-Sall said: “The sale has secured 58 jobs, ensuring a continuity of service to core customers who rely on the quality of the company’s steel products. We wish all those involved in the fabrications-supply division the very best under the new ownership structure. We have been helping those who have lost their jobs from the closure of the mining division to make claims with the Redundancy Payment Service.”
