Addison Tube Division — the tube-bending technologies arm of Stourbridge-based Addison Saws Ltd (
www.addisonsaws.co.uk) — has been appointed as the sole UK distributor of CNC profile-bending machines from the Swiss company PBT AG.
The latter’s machines are used to bend aluminium, steel and stainless-steel profiles for a number of sectors, including construction, aerospace and furniture — plus the windows industry.
Addison group managing director Gary Knight said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured the UK distributor rights for PBT’s profile-bending technologies. PBT’s machines will dovetail perfectly with our tube-bending and end-forming technologies from the leading Taiwanese manufacturer CSM.”
Featuring triple-roller bending technology, PBT machines range from the Arkus 12 (a compact machine that bends even the smallest aluminium and steel profiles to extremely tight radii) to larger heavy-duty machines such as
the PBT35 and Helix models.
The latter are designed for more challenging applications, including profiles for use in vehicle manufacturing and construction. PBT also makes bespoke profile-bending machines.
Mr Knight says that with the addition of PBT machines to the range, Addison Tube Division now offers what is “possibly the most extensive choice of profile-bending, mandrel tube-bending and non-mandrel tube-bending machines in the UK.”
Addison’s CSM tube benders range from basic three-axis hydraulic models through to 11-axis all-electric machines.
The CSM 100TDRE-RBE, a five-axis double-stack electric hybrid tube bender with electric boost, can produce the very tightest thin-wall bends — just 1xD — in the type of large-diameter stainless-steel tube being used by Tier One and Tier Two exhaust and catalytic converter manufacturers.
