Germany’s president Frank-Walter Steinmeier will be opening the
EMO 2017 exhibition in Hanover (18-23 September).
Carl Welcker, general commissioner, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our head of state will be honouring
EMO with his presence, and thus affirming the high level of perceived importance accorded to the nation’s industrial sector.”
By the beginning of June, more than 2,050 firms from 45 countries had signed up for the show. Some 1,400 exhibitors will take part from Europe alone, while the proportion of Asian participants has increased from 21 to 25%.
“These statistics mean that the current stand bookings are significantly above the comparable figure for the previous event,” said Mr Welcker.
The opening ceremony of
EMO on 18 September is scheduled to last about 1hr. Besides Mr Steinmeier, Lower Saxony’s prime minister Stephan Weil and CECIMO’s president Luigi Galdabini, will also be speaking.
The president will then take a tour of the exhibition.
