Mollart builds on automotive success#EMO2017 Mollart Engineering (www.mollart.com) (Hall 16, Stand B05) will use EMO to try to replicate within Europe its success in North America for deep-hole drilling applications within the automotive sector.

The company will be displaying an Omnisprint LD6-750 three-axis six-spindle gun-drilling centre; after the exhibition, this machine will be delivered to a North American customer as part of a $3 million contract for five machines.

The Omnisprint knee-type gun-drill centre, which can undertake off-centreline drilling, offers a drilling capacity of
2-22mm, with hole depths up to 750mm.

Variants are available with one, two or four spindles, as well as 500 and 1,000mm drilling depths — and four- and five-axis pallet-shuttle packages.

Each machine uses a Fanuc 35i control. Botek, the company’s partner for deep-hole drilling tools, will be present on the Mollart stand to discuss any specific application requirements.

Mollart will also be using EMO to promote its sub-contract operations at Chessington and Resolven, which specialise in multi-axis machining, deep-hole drilling and clean-room assembly.
