RK well representedErith-based RK International Machine Tools Ltd (www.rk-int.com) will be well represented at EMO by its numerous principals and partners. For instance, grinding machines will be on display from Perfect, Robbi, Delta and Jainnher, while large-capacity CNC milling machines from RK’s most recently added partner — Lagun — will also be on show.
Perfect (Hall 11, Stand A20) will be exhibiting the X36 surface grinder, which now benefits from an upgraded PLC that allows axial control functions to be selected according to different grinding conditions. The company will also unveil its new PFG-600R, a rotary-table surface grinder designed for the manufacture of components where concentricity is paramount.

Over on the Delta stand (Hall 11, Stand A78), there will be a number of machines on display, including: the newly introduced Mini 7 travelling-column surface grinder; the Rotax 7 automatic rotary-table horizontal-spindle NC grinding machine; and the LC400 rotary grinder.

The Mini 7 is the smallest of the three-machine Mini range from Delta and features an 800 x 550mm maximum grinding area. Delta makes use of a stabilised Meehanite cast-iron structure for maximum rigidity and grinding performance, with accuracy further enhanced through the use of hydrostatic support on all machine slideways.

The 7.5kW spindle motor is a servo-ventilated type, with a Mackensen hydrodynamic bearing on the front and a pair of pre-loaded precision ball bearings on the rear. This eliminates wear, maximises durability and minimises friction, says Delta.

Robbi (Hall 11, Stand A82) will be highlighting its large-capacity CNC cylindrical grinding machine range, with the Omicron 3615 Industry 4.0 Edition model taking pride of place on the stand. Machine control is provided by the Siemens 840D sl, which with its Industry 4.0 configuration allows remote control and monitoring.

This control can also create (and store) a database of key information from the production process that is useful for generating further productivity improvements over time. To demonstrate Industry 4.0 capability, visitors to the stand will be able to access certain machine functions from their own mobile devices.

The centre of attention on the Lagun stand (Hall 13, Stand A56-A58) will be the BM bed-mill series, with the BM 3 on display. BM machines are available with axis travels up to 5,000 x 1,300 x 2,000mm (X, Y and Z), with the BM 3 variant offering 3,000mm in the X axis.
