The versatility of three brands from the stable of Cheltenham-based Vero Software (
www.verosoftware.com) (Hall 25, Stand B20) will be showcased at EMO: Edgecam and WorkNC CAD/CAM, along with CAD analyser WorkXplore. Visitors will see innovations and functionality in the latest software releases, including Waveform roughing — a high-performance strategy that is available in both Edgecam and WorkNC.
Vero says Waveform has been configured for hard and tough materials, significantly improving standard roughing technologies with its consistent material removal, while increasing tool life and productivity. Another highlight is the ‘Advanced Toolform’ technology in WorkNC; this was developed to maximise the benefits offered by modern tool geometries in high-feed cutting applications. A milled jet-aircraft model (programmed with WorkNC) will be displayed to highlight the software’s versatility.
The current edition of Edgecam introduces a new Turning cycle that includes B-axis movements while machining on a turning centre. The company says this feature allows greater accessibility when machining complex profiles, by dynamically positioning the insert. WorkXplore contains features that allow the user to perform part diagnostics, create assembly instructions and prepare the production of 3-D models.
The software, which can open the native files of Edgecam and WorkNC, was developed to import and analyse all file types and sizes at high speed. According to Vero, it often takes less than half the time to open a file compared with the original CAD application.
Vero will be sharing its stand with its resellers C-CAM and Timatech, along with parent company Hexagon, which will be demonstrating a Romer portable measuring arm.
