UK engineers visiting EMO will be able to see a range of new products from the partner companies of Gewefa (UK) Ltd (www.gewefa.co.uk), all of which the Corsham-based tool-holding specialist exclusively represents in the UK.

Gewefa GmbH (Hall 5, Stand B93) will showcase a new shrink collet system, the Induterm M96, which is based on established heat-shrink clamping techniques for holding milling cutters in tool-holders.

As well as high grip with a short clamping length, the system offers assured tool run-out of less than 3µm.

Static-tooling and driven-tooling specialist EWS (Hall 4, Stand G83) will be supporting the Industry 4.0 initiative with its ‘smart manufacturing and integrated production’ concept.

EWS has developed a new intelligent driven tool (as yet un-named), which includes sensor technology that enables it to communicate with the machine operator or even with the machine itself.

The technology will be able to monitor parameters such as cutting conditions and run time. Pibomulti (Hall 4, Stand A27) — a Swiss angle-head, speeder and multi-spindle-head specialist — will be introducing the Rainbow range of right-angle heads with a modular concept.

This allows customers to specify a head that matches specific machining requirements and the capability of the machine tool.

On the OTT-Jakob stand (Hall 5, Stand F14), a new sensor-based 3-in-1 monitoring solution will be making its debut . The MSU ‘plug and play’ monitoring system obtains machine data using sensor technology.

Functions include: the monitoring of the drawbar shaft position; detection of the unclamp body position; and leakage detection.

There are also new developments for the OTT-Jakob Power-Check 2 pull-force measurement device, which now incorporates a locking function on the adjusting sleeve and offers a new sealing system.

Also new is a coating for wear and rust protection.
