Rapid Shape (
www.rapidshape.de) has introduced its latest generation of 3-D printers for the hearing-aid industry.
The Studio-Line HA20 II, HA30 II and HA40 II are pitched at hearing acoustics shops and laboratories.
With regard to productivity, the HA20 II can create several ear-pieces in as little as 30min. A notable feature of the HA30 II is its compact dimensions, while the HA40 II — with a slightly bigger build platform (150 x 85mm) and additional functions — is suitable for larger laboratories and producers.
Studio-Line 3-D printers are offered with an optional maintenance package that ensures annual renewal of the Biocompatibility Certificate required by the EU’s Medical Devices Directive.
Advances in technology have reduced maintenance costs by up to 50%, according to Rapid Shape.
CEO Andreas Schultheiss said: “The new printers make it quicker and easier than ever to produce professional and biocompatible hearing-aid parts.
“We have worked closely with our customers and material partners to develop the new generation of 3-D printers, which meet — and exceed — current needs.”
