Cleanliness and economy with optimised coolant

Cleanliness and economy with optimised coolantThe lubrication properties of the new Trim MicroSol 530 semi-synthetic coolant from Needham Market-based Master Fluid Solutions (www.masterfluidsolutions.com) are said to provide levels of surface finish on aluminium components normally associated with milky emulsions having high concentrations of oil.

However, the company says that unlike these emulsions, Trim MicroSol 530 is very clean-running and keeps machine tools free from residue build-up, while reducing concentrate consumption and costs.

This latest addition to the company’s Trim MicroSol range is free of boron, chlorine and formaldehyde, yet it combines cooling and lubricity for the cost-effective and high-quality machining of aluminium, titanium, steel, stainless steel, Inconel and cast iron.

Moreover, it provides “excellent protection” for sensitive alloys, including aerospace and nuclear materials, as well as ‘superior’ corrosion inhibition on all ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Though formulated for multi-metal applications, Trim MicroSol 530 “really comes into its own on aluminium.

“Its performance, cleanliness and the ability to run without foam in the softest of water make it particularly suitable for machining alloy wheels, as well as ‘down the hole’applications such as drilling and tapping.”

Other significant benefits of this micro-emulsion are long tool life and long sump life — the latter achieved without the need for tank-side biocides or fungicides.

It also keeps parts and machines clean, thereby reducing maintenance and coolant carry-off.
