Bowers Group (www.bowersgroup.co.uk) — the sole distributor for Swiss-made Trimos products in the UK — has introduced the latter’s new A-line range of portable measuring arms for 3-D measurements.

The entry-level A3 arm features a six-axis configuration and is available with measuring ranges of 1,300 and 1,800mm. Furthermore, a carbon fibre construction and aluminium mounting ensure that the arm is very stable, light and easy to operate (a counterbalance is included).

"It is the ideal instrument for flexible 3-D measurement, ensuring reliability, repeatability and — most of all — accuracy.

"The carbon fibre structure ensures stability, enabling easy quality control, inspection or verification of small and large parts.”

These arms are supplied with Aberlink Software, as used on the Baty range of vision systems and projectors.

The A3 arm also features mechanical probes with a 4mm ruby sphere, an internal temperature sensor, and a 20mm calibration sphere with magnetic support.

Certified according to the ISO10360-2 standard, the entry-level A3 arm is complemented by additional models (including A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9 and AT) offering measuring ranges up to 9,000mm.
