AESseal, a leading specialist in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals and support systems, has submitted plans for the next phase of expansion at its facility in Rotherham.
The company (
www.aesseal.co.uk) designs and makes mechanical seals and support systems for a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, food, water, mining and pharmaceuticals.
It has grown from a small distribution firm based in Sheffield to a business with a £180 million-plus turnover, employing more than 1,800 people world-wide.
Having expanded in Rotherham over four phases during the last 20 years, the company currently employs over 350 people in the town.
Phase five will nearly double the size of AESseal’s global headquarters and could lead to the creation of 100 new jobs.
The planning application states: “The proposed development is an additional building that will link to AESseal’s existing facility on the adjacent site.
"The new building comprises a 50,000ft
2 single-storey machine shop and two-storey 12,000ft
2 office accommodation.
"It will be linked to the existing building by a two-storey glazed structure containing the new single entrance to the entire integrated facility.
"Accommodation will include meeting rooms, staff changing facilities, new offices and ancillary spaces.”
