In Groupe Renault’s (
www.group.renault.com) passenger car and light commercial vehicle (LCV) sectors, sales in France rose to 698,690 units in 2019 in a market that grew by 2.3%, making it the group’s best year in terms of sales volumes since 2010. Its market share stood at 25.9%.
In a growing passenger car market (+1.9%), the Renault brand registered 549,283 vehicles (+0.3%).
The Clio family (fourth and fifth generations) remained the best-selling passenger car in France for the 10th year running, with more than 131,500 units registered (up 6.3%).
Sales in France of the Captur (its second-generation model is currently being launched) and the Twingo (renewed at the beginning of 2019) were ranked fifth and ninth respectively. The ZOE remained the market leader in France’s electric-vehicle market.
With 18,817 registrations by the end of December (+10.4%), it accounted for 44% of the country’s electric passenger car market.
In a still dynamic LCV market (+4.5%), Renault had a market share of 30.8% and set a 12-year volume record with 147,828 registrations; the company also took the top three spots with its Kangoo, Master and Trafic.
Furthermore, the Kangoo ZE took the lead in the electric light commercial vehicle market with a 48% market share.
