
Lymington-based Ajax Machine Tools International Ltd (
www.ajax-mach.co.uk) has introduced two new CNC machines called the Atom and Proton to its wide range of machinery which includes small manual grinders, CNC lathes, machining centres, CNC and manual milling, flat and slant bed lathes, drilling and boring machines.
The new Atom mini CNC lathe is extremely compact and comes with a Siemens 808D control, a 100mm three-jaw chuck, an automatic four-way toolpost that can accommodate 10mm tooling and a tailstock with a 3MT spindle. It is supplied on wheels for portability and can be plugged into a domestic 13-amp socket.
The Proton which also has a compact footprint is the three-axis mini mill version of the Atom and comes with a Siemens 808D control as standard. It can mill, drill and tap with ease and is also on wheels and can be plugged into a 13-amp power socket.
These flexible machines are suitable for a wide range of settings including the home, garage, workshop, machine shop or classroom. On-line training is available and a PC version of the control is supplied free-of-charge.
