Investing in the future of VericutHove-based www.cgtech.co.uk CGTech has appointed its first apprentice to join its UK technical support team. Will Culliford started his role as apprentice technical support engineer at the beginning of September after successfully completing a six-week work experience placement last year.

During his work experience, based at the CGTech office in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, Will completed all Vericut training courses and helped with beta testing the next Vericut release.

As part of his apprenticeship he will be attending Gloucestershire Engineering Training College (GET) on a full-time basis for the first academic year and then dividing his time between college and office based learning in the latter stages of the course.

Will said: “I really enjoyed working with Vericut and the CGTech team during my work experience placement and I am now looking forward to learning more about the software and developing my engineering knowledge.”

Gavin Powell, CGTech technical director, said: “Having an apprentice engineer is an exciting and positive step for CGTech UK. By supporting the next generation of engineers, we are committed to investing in the future of our industry.”

The most recent version, Vericut 9.1, includes several new cutting edge features that increase efficiency and empower users to do more in less time.

New visibility options, plus enhancements to toolpath optimisation, tooling & multi-tool stations, measuring and inspection/reporting are just a few of the noteworthy features in the latest release.
