Wakefield-based Hallamshire Engineering Services (HES), part of
Group Rhodes, and a leading manufacturer of material-handling equipment, including pulleys, rollers and conveyors, has secured a major new contract to manufacture stainless steel drums for the food sector.
The contract win is with Sheffield-based
Robson Handling Technology with the drums forming part of a conveyor system that the company is supplying to a sugar-processing plant in Portugal.
One of only a small number of conveyor manufacturers in the UK to be able to produce drums, pulleys and rollers in stainless steel, HES supplies both standard and bespoke product sizes to customers in the food, quarrying, agriculture and recycling industries.
The company, which can trace its origins back almost 300 years, has extensive experience in the food sector and is the original designer and manufacturer of the ‘Whittington’ Spiral Wound Conveyor Pulley, which is widely used in food and agricultural applications.
Matt Rodgers, bulk sales manager at Robson Handling Technology, said: “We chose HES as we have worked with them for many years and are confident of the quality of their manufacturing process. On complex projects like this one, we needed a supplier we could trust and the fact that it is locally based is a bonus.”
Neil Bettley, HES operations manager, concluded: “We are delighted to have secured this latest contract with Robson Handling Technology. We have supplied the food industry for almost 25 years and provide a bespoke design and manufacture service to suit individual company’s requirements.”
As a major worldwide exporter of bespoke equipment for the food, quarrying, agriculture and recycling industries, HES has a proven track record of designing highest-quality conveyor pulleys.
