In a strategic move to expand its product capabilities and capture new markets, Ceandess Ltd, an established Midlands-based engineering and fabrication company, has invested in a new mandrel bending machine supplied by Coventry-based
AMOB UK. This acquisition of an MDH-90-CN3 mandrel bender marks a significant milestone for Ceandess Ltd which as it continues to evolve and innovate within the engineering industry.
Ceandess has been a key player in the development and supply of filler caps, necks, and filters, especially catering to the British motorcycle and car industries. Now, with the addition of the MDH-90-CN3 mandrel bender, the company is poised to expand its capabilities by incorporating formed down tube assemblies into its product portfolio.
Edward Davies, Ceandess managing director, explained: “Many of our filler caps and necks require formed down tube assemblies, and we wanted to capture that market. Many of our customers currently purchase our caps and bases, and then go elsewhere to supply the tube part of the assembly but with this new machine, Ceandess is now able to supply the entire product. Furthermore, Mr Davies expressed a desire in branch out, adding: “We would also like to expand into new markets such as street furniture, barriers etc. in the near future.”
Speaking on the exceptional support from AMOB UK, Mr Davies continued: “AMOB UK aftercare has been great so far. We have had one days training, and it was delivered really well. The instructor was able to impart a lot of knowledge and we look forward to further training once we have had a bit of time to familiarise ourselves with the mandrel bender.’
The successful installation of this MDH-90-CN3 mandrel bender now offers Ceandess a key advantage as it has a CN3 capability. Mr Davies said: “The machine will open new sales streams for us and as it is CN3 capable we will be able to offer competitive rates for tube products. AMOB UK offered the perfect machine for our needs, with a simple operating system and CNC capability.”
