US-based
Franklin Precision Castings, with a facility in Franklin, Pennsylvania, has bought a new DN Solutions DMN 4500S vertical machining centre (VMC). The company partnered with
Allegheny Machine Tool Systems Inc for the purchase and installation.
Rick Wolbert, Franklin’s machine shop manager, said: “With the new DN Solutions’ faster tool changes, increased tool capacity, and the reduction in set-up times, we were able to replace two older machining centres and produce better quality parts with shorter lead times.
“This DN Solutions machine is used for the finishing stage of the machining process. It is equipped with a 40-tool magazine, 15,000rev/min spindle, and Renishaw probing capabilities; and compared with our previous machines, the tool change is four-times quicker and the spindle speed doubled.
For nearly four decades, Franklin Precision Castings has been providing high-quality precision investment castings to customers in a variety of industries, including glass containers, pumps and valves, oil and gas, mining, steel, food, metal processing, and transportation. The company pours an extensive range of standard and custom stainless steel, nickel, cobalt, brass, bronze, Ni-Hard alloys.
DN Solutions’ machines are available in the UK and Ireland from
