A new stand-alone software solution that maximises the potential of CNC machining programs,
Vericut Optimizer has been designed to give users access to data-driven optimisation strategies and tool paths that work with both speed and precision; and while Optimizer is similar to Vericut’s existing module, the big difference is Optimizer’s stand-alone configuration, which means machine shops ‘do not require Vericut to take advantage of its capabilities’.
Optimizer integrates seamlessly with the APT/CL file or G-code NC program output of almost any CAM system, ‘cutting machining cycle times and delivering up to 100% more tool life’. Optimizer also captures detailed performance data and ‘provides the most accurate cut-by-but analysis on the CNC market’.
Scott Ravenscroft, Vericut UK’s sales manager, said: “In just a few clicks, Vericut Optimizer empowers manufacturers to optimise their NC programs effortlessly, regardless of their existing software set-up. If you are happy with your current CAM verification software and aren’t looking to purchase Vericut just to access our Force module, then Optimizer is for you. Suitable for use on three-, four- or five-axis CNC machines, Vericut Optimizer concentrates solely on optimising your programs to deliver significant improvements in cycle times, tool life and part quality.
“Optimizer features include importing and creating cutters, assigning stock and NC programs to the project tree, and generating insightful graphs. There is also a stock material catalogue with over 150 dyno-tested stock material-cutter combinations, and Vericut tool performance data that includes industry-recommended feeds and speeds for common cutter types and materials.
“Also included is a pre-configured head-up display (HUD), an NC program display with review capability, an optimisation savings calculator, and the ability to compare original files with optimised NC programs.”
Vericut specialises in numerical control (NC/CNC) simulation, verification, optimisation, post-processing, and analysis software for manufacturing. Vericut also offers programming and simulation software for composites automated fibre-placement, tape-laying, and drilling/fastening CNC machines.
