Bystronic has launched the new ByTube Star 330 tube laser which it says “offers sheet metal processors entirely new perspectives with its productivity and flexibility”, and is the only medium to large machine on the market that can automatically process tubes and open sections across the entire range, from 19 to 305mm, without set-up time.

A tube laser cutter is used to cut various metal hollow round tubes that are often employed in industrial tubing, office furniture, sports and fitness equipment, building material, and much more. The completely new ByTube Star 330 tube laser redefines laser cutting technology for tubes and profiles. This modular, large 3-D fibre laser tube-cutting machine is the only one of its kind to automatically process tubes and open sections within the diameter range of 19 to 305mm without set-up time. With minimal manual set-up, even processing up to 324mm is possible.

With the ByTube Star 330, customers will experience efficiency as never before — the ByTube Star 330 offers the highest processing speed on the market for components over 250mm and 40kg/m. Fully automatic feeding and sorting increases productivity and lowers the cost of labour significantly.

It comes with 6kW or 10kW power source which ensures sufficient power to cut even particularly large and thick tubes or profiles quickly while maintaining the highest quality standars. Furthermore the fibre laser cuts all standard closed and open rectangular profiles (C + L + H + I + U) from 19.05 x 19.05mm to 260 x 260mm, and supports a broad range of diameters and different cutting processes.

Modular approach

The ByTube Star 330 is an extremely versatile machine. It is designed with a modular approach, with three different loading options and effectively represents a custom-made solution that can be put together to take into account any floor space restrictions. Furthermore, the layout can be reconfigured to meet production requirements at any time.

BystronicAutomation is also a key feature. Processes such as drilling, tapping, marking, and phase cutting without any manual intervention saves on time and cost. With the laser power of 6 or 10kW available, the ByTube Star 330 can cut thick tubes with bevel cuts, without compromising cutting quality and options such as Laserscan, Weld Search Camera, and QuickCut guarantee the highest quality and safety in every work process.

The 3-D cutting head and the QuickCut option ensure the highest speed and quality, even with very small tubes. The machine is also very user-friendly. Due to the intuitive touchscreen and tried-and-tested Bystronic HMI, operating the ByTube Star 330 is intuitive and similar to using a smartphone. The largest ByTube Star 330 layout available is 32m, and the total weight around 40 tonnes. This facilitates a maximum loading length of 12.8m.
