Designed for superior performance and versatility, the new NFLB lens-type and NFCB chamfer-type barrel inserts are redefining standards in profile milling by delivering a more than 40% increase in productivity compared to traditional ball-type milling.
The Fine-Barrel product family introduces an advanced barrel geometry, integrating larger radius cutting edges capable of wide-pitch machining. This innovative design improves productivity and ensures excellent surface finishes in high-precision applications, making them ideal for industries demanding first-class performance.
The NFLB lens-type insert (pictured left) features a dual-function bottom and side cutting edge, enabling various profile machining options within a single tool. Users can independently program each cutting edge through CAM software, offering maximum flexibility for complex shapes and surfaces.
Meanwhile, the NFCB chamfer-type insert includes an inclined cutting edge that enhances machining efficiency on inclined profiles and reduces overhang, contributing to higher stability and accuracy. In addition, its bottom radius cutting edge can seamlessly replicate the capabilities of a ball end mill, offering even broader application potential. Both the NFLB lens and NFCB chamfer-type inserts are available in various dimensions, grades and coatings to meet the end user’s specific requirements.
Fine-Barrel inserts are fully compatible with TaeguTec’s existing Fine-Ball TNF holders, allowing manufacturers to easily upgrade their tooling systems without additional toolholder investment. This compatibility ensures a stable clamping system with excellent runout and repeatability, which are critical factors in achieving precision and consistency across production runs. The TNF tools are available as indexable end mills or exchangeable head-type tools.
The TNF end mills (pictured right) are available in 6 to 30mm diameter with an overall length of 90 to 300mm, depending on the diameter selected. All tools are available with a necked or tapered shank with a through coolant to maximise productivity and swarf evacuation.
Complementing the TNF end mills are the carbide-shanked TNF-CT-L long series. Providing maximum reach with unparalleled stability, the TNF-CT-L series is available in diameters from 6 to 30mm and overall tool lengths from 100 to 350mm. Carbide shanks deliver exceptional stability and impeccable surface finishes, permitting the end user to machine the most difficult-to-reach surfaces.
The TNF-M modular indexable head end mills complete the series. Available in 10, 12, 16, 20, 25 and 30mm diameters, the modular heads are compatible with both NFLB lens and NFCB chamfer-type inserts and incorporate a through coolant channel to enhance tool life and chip evacuation.
