Final preparations are underway for the start of the world’s largest coil winding and electrical engineering event,
CWIEME Berlin, which kicks off tomorrow at Messe Berlin (3-5 June). This year’s show will feature a range of new programmes alongside last year’s most popular ones. Making a return is the Women in Engineering programme, which brings together women across the industry to exchange insights, discuss shared challenges and grow their professional networks.
Also back for 2025 is Connect@CWIEME, a data-powered connection event which facilitated 2,800 meaningful interactions between exhibitors and visitors during the 2024 show. Connect@CWIEME helps engineering, procurement and R&D professionals to source the electrical engineering industry suppliers they need.
The popular Future Engineers programme will be back this year aiming to bridge the talent gap. Sessions on careers, networking and skill development, combined with guided tours and an ‘industry meet and greet’ will help to empower and inspire the next generation of engineers.
Meanwhile, the Country Pavilions return for 2025, offering a chance to meet the most significant industry contacts for each part of the globe; this year a Swiss Pavilion will take part for the first time highlighting next-generation solutions designed to enhance efficiency, sustainability and resilience in modern energy infrastructure
Zero-carbon economyThis year sees significant focus on shaping electric motors for a zero-carbon economy. An exclusive discussion-led workshop on 3 June will bring together the entire electric motor value chain, from materials suppliers, to manufacturers and end users. The session will tackle topics like circular economy models, energy efficiency and digitalisation, and will include policymakers, regulatory experts and research institutions.

Research and academia are also big themes this year and 2025 sees the launch of the Academic Excellence Hub. A dedicated exhibition area for universities, research centres and academic innovators, it will provide opportunities to exhibit research, network and promote career and internship opportunities.
The event promises a strong social element as well. To help visitors settle in, the opening Community Welcome Party will be a relaxed networking evening with complimentary drinks and food after the first day of the show. Guests can enjoy daily happy hours at the Beer Garden, between 4 N 5pm, where they can unwind, socialise and enjoy a range of food and drinks.
Furthermore, two new clubs will debut this year. The C Suite Club has a tailored agenda covering transformers, electric motors and emerging technologies, where participants will engage in high-impact conversations under the Chatham House Rule to ensure open dialogue. The Power Transmission & Distribution Club offers TSOs (transmission system operators), grid operators and OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) dedicated sessions on grid innovation, networking opportunities and an exclusive lounge.
CWIEME Berlin is the world’s largest trade show dedicated to the coil winding and electrical engineering industry and 2025 promises to be the biggest and best yet.
