Vericut Version 9.6 released with AI enhancementsVericut, formerly known as CGTech, has released the latest version of its industry-leading CNC simulation, verification, and optimisation software — Vericut 9.6. This update introduces advanced artificial intelligence capabilities and a range of productivity-focused enhancements that simplify machining workflows, improve collaboration, and deliver real-world usability across the shopfloor.

Vericut 9.6 introduces two transformative AI-driven tools that redefine how users interact with the software. The first one is Vericut Assistant (VA) – an integrated in-software guide that delivers instant, context-aware support. Whether users are looking for help with settings, simulation steps, or tool configurations, VA answers "How do I..." questions right within the interface — reducing training time and unlocking more value from Vericut’s robust features.

The second tool is Vericut Intelligence (VI) – a web-based knowledge hub that provides 24/7 access to AI-powered insights across Vericut’s full suite — including Force, Composites, Optimizer, and more. From broad concepts like “What is Force?” to specific features like “X-Caliper,” VI offers a smart, searchable companion for all things Vericut.

Meanwhile, Vericut Reviewer — a free tool for reviewing NC programs — has been upgraded to support AUTO-DIFF results, while improvements to the UI add HUD status displays and custom hot keys, making it easier to review, share, and analyse simulations across teams.

Key enhancements

Key Enhancements in Vericut 9.6 include: PMI Data Support — display and document 3D product manufacturing information (PMI), including dimensions and annotations compliant with ISO 10303/STEP AP242 standards; Turning Upgrades — define driven points more accurately and automatically qualify tools for faster, more precise lathe setups; Streamlined Optimisation — a simplified optimisation vontrol window and default tool data make it easier to fine-tune feedrates and improve cutting performance with fewer clicks; New Interfaces — extended support for Siemens Run MyVirtual Machine and Fanuc Robot T.P. language; CAD/CAM Updates — expanded support in multiple interfaces, including NX auto-loading of stock, fixtures, and designs; and Additional Improvements — new report templates, enhanced machine connectivity, solid model textures, and better tool import from MachiningCloud.

Gene Granata, director of product management, said: “Vericut 9.6 takes intelligent manufacturing to the next level. These new AI tools are not just about automation — they are designed to give users faster access to Vericut knowledge and providing guidance when needed during their verification and optimisation processes.”
