LVD Company nv has unveiled Ricobb, a collaborative robot (cobot) bending system designed to integrate seamlessly with all LVD press brake installed since 2001. Engineered by
LVD Robotic Solutions (LRS), the company’s dedicated automation division, Ricobb presents a practical and economical solution for sheet metalworking businesses seeking to enhance bending productivity, address labour shortages, and transition toward ‘lights out’ manufacturing.
Compact and intuitive, Ricobb is designed for mobility and ease-of-use. It can be deployed, trained, and operational within days of purchase, offering manufacturers a rapid route to automation. Once docked to a press brake, Ricobb automatically identifies the machine, streamlining relocation and setup. Its autonomous operation ensures consistent performance and maximises equipment utilisation.
The system is particularly suited to handling small, simple parts and can be reassigned swiftly to different machines as production requirements evolve. Programming is straightforward, requiring only basic instruction for pick, bend, and regrip positions. Ricobb’s icon-based interface eliminates the need for advanced coding skills, making it accessible to operators with minimal training.
Ricobb also supports customisable gripper extensions, allowing users to tailor the cobot to specific applications within its payload limits. This flexibility enables manufacturers to adapt quickly to changing production demands without significant infrastructure investment.
LVD Robotic Solutions was formed in 2022 following the acquisition of KUKA Solutions Benelux. The division focuses on making robotic automation more attainable for manufacturers across various sectors, offering bespoke solutions ranging from turnkey handling systems to machine tending and material flow optimisation.
