Ideal for manufacturers with limited space on the shopfloor that wish to progress to automated component handling into and out of CNC machine tools, a new robot-tending cell has been launched by Turkish company
Tezmaksan Robot Technologies, whose products are sold in Britain and Ireland by
Whitehouse Machine Tools, Kenilworth.
CubeBOX Tower is a high-capacity automation solution designed to maximise productivity in industrial manufacturing environments. Of hexagonal cross section, the rotating tower occupies just 3,500 x 2,750mm of factory space. Even so, it is able to present to a Fanuc or Kuka robot up to 48 machine pallets measuring 250mm
2, or 24 pallets measuring 600mm
2. Maximum shelf load is 200kg, subject to the total weight of the cell not exceeding 2-5 tonnes.
The tower helps to minimise downtime on any CNC lathe, machining centre or grinder and can serve more than one machine tool to keep multiple spindles running more efficiently. Overall height of the structure is 2,750mm and the shelves, instead of holding pallets, can alternatively accommodate individual components for machining, as well as tools.
This new offering from Tezmaksan aligns with the need for OEMs and sub-contractors to adopt Industry 4.0 principles, whether they are producing long runs of components or low volumes of diverse parts. The cell provides uninterrupted, flexible, operator-free production, including overnight and at the weekends, as well as full traceability of manufacturing data.
CubeBOX Tower is integrated with Tezmaksan’s proprietary RoboCAM software, allowing operators to set up robot programs of any complexity by simply uploading 2D CAD drawings, eliminating the need for expert robot-programming knowledge.
