Raeon, a custom battery manufacturer, has opened a new flagship headquarters and production centre in Warwick, marking a major step in the company’s transition from prototype assembly to scalable manufacturing for specialist vehicle sectors. The move reflects growing demand for high‑performance, application‑specific batteries in a range of sectors including defence, marine, aerospace and motorsport markets often priced out of bespoke solutions as development costs for traditional battery systems can exceed £2 million per design.
The 6,000ft
2 site on Harriott Drive houses Raeon’s FloLock manufacturing line, a resin encapsulation process that allows the production of robust, thermally managed batteries in almost any size or geometry without the need for costly injection‑moulding tooling. The company says the technology cuts development costs by more than 70% and reduces prototype lead times to around 12 weeks, offering an alternative for customers whose requirements sit outside the mass‑market automotive sphere.

By retaining its engineering hub near Witney, Oxfordshire, for research and development while establishing production capability in Warwick, Raeon aims to reinforce the UK supply chain for specialised energy‑storage systems. The company says this dual‑site approach positions it within the "Golden Triangle" of engineering talent and gives domestic manufacturers access to UK‑made, high‑performance battery solutions.
Murray Schofield, CEO and co‑founder, said: “For too long, innovative UK manufacturers in sectors such as marine, defence and niche automotive have been forced to compromise — either buying off‑the‑shelf batteries that don’t fit their products or facing unpalatable costs for bespoke development. Our new Warwick facility changes that. By industrialising our FloLock technology here in the West Midlands, we are proving that you don’t need to be a mass‑market giant to get the perfect battery. This facility is about unlocking electrification for the rest of the market and doing it right here in Britain.”
Tom Brooks, COO and co‑founder, concluded: “Expanding our operations into this new facility represents a huge step forward for Raeon. We are moving to a semi‑automated production environment capable of supporting our customers from their first prototype all the way through to series production. Whether it is high‑performance Motorsport, ruggedised Defence applications, or next‑generation aerospace, this site gives us the capacity to deliver. It provides the supply‑chain security that is critical for the growth of the UK’s green economy.”
