3D People to make a splash at OceanologyLondon-based industrial 3-D printing specialist 3D People will be exhibiting at Oceanology International, taking place 10–12 March at ExCel London (Booth R10), where the 3-D printing specialist will highlight how production-grade polymer additive manufacturing (AM) is increasingly being used to solve real-world challenges across subsea, marine, and ocean technology applications.

Ocean industries operate in some of the most demanding environments on Earth, where equipment must combine precision, durability, and rapid development cycles. 3D People’s expertise lies in helping engineering teams turn digital designs into robust, end-use polymer components, quickly, reliably, and without the constraints of traditional tooling.

An example of this capability can be seen in 3D People’s work with Applied Acoustics, another exhibitor at the event which designs mission-critical subsea navigation and marine seismic survey equipment, where housings, spacers, and enclosures must perform flawlessly under pressure. By working with 3D People, the company was able to move from prototyping to production using SLS PA12 Nylon, eliminating tooling costs, reducing lead times from weeks to days, and unlocking design freedom for complex, application-specific parts.

3D People’s co-founder Felix Manley said: “Subsea engineering demands speed and certainty. What our work with Applied Acoustics demonstrates is that AM is no longer just a development tool, it is a dependable production method that allows engineers to iterate faster, reduce risk, and deploy high-performance components into harsh environments with confidence.”

At Oceanology International, 3D People will be engaging with OEMs, system integrators, and R&D teams looking for alternatives to injection moulding and machining, particularly for low-to-medium volume parts, custom housings, internal components, and products where design evolution is expected.

Sasha Bruml, co-Founder of 3D People, said: “All of our manufacturing is done in-house in the UK, which gives customers control over quality, lead times, and scalability. For ocean technology companies, that means faster development, fewer compromises in design, and supply chains that are far more responsive to real demand.”

By combining industrial polymer powder bed fusion technologies with advanced finishing and practical engineering support, 3D People is helping ocean-focused innovators bring products to market faster, without sacrificing performance or reliability.

Visitors to Oceanology International are invited to drop by and meet the 3D People team to discuss how AM can support next-generation subsea and marine technologies.
